The official Savatage Greek Fan Club, Greek Legion, in collaboration with Belle Époque Publications, proudly presents the A Thousand Tales Untold book trilogy.

 

The first volume traces the footsteps of brothers Jon Oliva and Criss Oliva during their formative years. Through the pages of this collector’s edition, the stories of Metroplis USA, Tower, and Avatar are brought back to life. The book documents in vivid detail their earliest legendary live performances, outrageous backstage moments, and the fateful meeting with neighborhood friend Steve “Doctor Killdrums” Wacholz and bassist Keith Collins.

At the same time, the edition follows, step by step, the remarkable rise of Savatage from the independent label Par Records to the powerhouse known as Atlantic Records. It reveals how the band climbed from the underground Tampa metal scene to the stages of America’s biggest venues.

The purpose of this edition is to transport readers back to the birth of the American metal scene, capturing the spirit and culture of the early ’80s while paying tribute to the passionate amateur writers behind the local fanzines who played a vital role in spreading the music they loved across the world.
